FAQ & Troubleshooting
The questions developers ask most, and how to fix common problems.
My command doesn't show up
- Is the project installed in that hub? Global commands only appear where an agent of the project is installed.
- Does the member have
useCommandsin that channel, and the command'srequiredPermission? - Context-menu commands appear under right-click → Apps, not in the
/menu. - After a publish, clients refresh on
COMMANDS_UPDATE; a reload also works.
Members see "… is offline right now"
No agent of the environment installed in that hub is connected to the gateway. Check Agents (online dot) and that you're running the right environment's token.
"didn't respond in time"
You took more than 5 seconds to send the first answer. Answer with defer immediately, then reply when ready.
My endpoint gets nothing
- Is there a subscription for those event types, pointing to that endpoint, in the same environment?
- Is the environment's agent installed in the hub, and can it see the channel?
- Production/Staging endpoints must be public HTTPS; private and local addresses are refused.
- Look at Delivery → attempts for status codes and response bodies; 25 consecutive failures pause the endpoint.
Signature verification fails
Verify against the raw request bytes (before JSON parsing), use the endpoint's current secret, and include the timestamp exactly: ${timestamp}.${rawBody}. After a rotation, accept the previous secret during the grace period.
I lost a token or secret
Values are shown once and can't be recovered — rotate it in Secrets (optionally keeping the old one valid for 24 hours while you deploy).
PERMISSION_DENIED / ROLE_HIERARCHY on member actions
The hub may have granted fewer capabilities than you requested, or the target is above the agent's role. Ask the hub to move the app's role higher.
Still stuck?
Use the contact form on the Voznest website with your project id and the request id from the X-Request-Id response header.
